James Scott-Bowden

Group Managing Director

With a degree in civil engineering and an early career in the British army, followed by an MBA and commercial success in sales of process technologies in both the USA and the UK, James has been at the head of the ERG group since 2001.  James has a strong emphasis on industrial sales and guides the Group’s overall strategy with passion, growing the company in the UK and internationally.

Richard Hanson

Managing Director
ERG (Air Pollution Control) Ltd

Richard studied Chemical Engineering at Cambridge University and is a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers. He has spent his entire career in environmental and process engineering and has been with ERG for over 20 years, including in proposals and process engineering, engineering and operations management, and as managing director since 2013. Richard also established ERG’s Middle East office and built the core team in Jordan.

Peter Batt

Group Commercial Director

Prior to joining ERG in 2015, Peter has 25 years of positions at Board and senior management level in Commercial Management, Business Development, Financial Management, Sales and Strategic Business planning. Peter has worked in Process Engineering, Construction, Defence, Government and Oil and Gas/Energy Sector markets for private ownership companies. Peter studied Environmental Science at Plymouth University and is a Member of IMAREST.

Martin Bulman

General Manager/Director
ERG (Plastic Fabrication) Ltd

Martin has worked all his career in the Plastic Fabrication industry, including working overseas on a number of projects. Martin joined ERG(PF) in 2013 and has risen through the ranks from Plastic Fabricator up to his current position of General Manager where he oversees the running of the ERG(PF) division.

Nick has over 20 years’ experience in project management with ERG as well as periods with M&E main contractors. He supplements his pragmatic approach to implementing project delivery with a drive for commercial clarity and insists on maintaining the highest H&S standards on site. Nick is a Member of the Association of Project Managers and a Certified Member of IOSH.

Mike Wharton

Engineering Director
ERG (Air Pollution Control) Ltd

Mike has over 35 years fabrication and design experience following an HNC in Mechanical & Production Engineering. He has worked for large Process and Manufacturing/ Production Design companies and has been involved with gas scrubbing systems since 1994. Mike has been with ERG since 2005, initially as a Design Engineer and has progressed through the ranks to his current role of Engineering Director where he leads a strong team of Mechanical Engineers and CAD Designers

Yousif studied Industrial Engineering at University of Jordan and is a member of Jordan Engineering Association and Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). He has spent his career in engineering and management and has been with ERG for over 15 years, including in sales and proposals, project engineering, engineering and operations management, as general manager since 2013 and regional director since 2022. Yousif also worked in HVAC systems design, sales, and construction, and in supply chain management for private ownership companies.

Brian Vogét

Electrical Engineering Manager

Brian has 35 years’ experience of practical electrical engineering, working for a variety of construction and manufacturing companies in electrical, instrumentation, commissioning and maintenance roles. His experience includes marine, robotics, HVAC, steel manufacture, brewing, energy and environmental sectors. Brian joined ERG in 2012 as a commissioning engineer and brings significant knowledge of our systems to his electrical engineering management position.

Rami Owais

Middle East Technical Manager
ERG (Air Pollution Control) Ltd

Rami joined ERG in 2008 as a process and proposals engineer and has been involved with every significant project the Middle East office has carried out, including proposals and detailed engineering. Rami was promoted to technical and proposals manager in 2013 and leads the team of proposals, process, design and CAD engineers. Rami hold a masters degree in Chemical Engineering, is a chartered member of IChemE and a member of the Jordan Engineering Association.

Rachel Wood

Frameworks Manager
ERG APC Maintenance Ltd

Rachel has a degree in Environmental Management from the University of Surrey and is an IQMS IEMA qualified lead auditor. Prior to joining ERG in 2011, Rachel worked for the Environment Agency and a private company with varying roles including instrumentation officer, service engineer and client account manager. At ERG, Rachel manages our framework contracts and servicing team, ensuring all KPI’s are achieved and sales and project management communications work smoothly.

Maz Bayoumi

Projects Manager
ERG APC Maintenance Ltd

Since joining ERG in 2012, Maz has gained a reputation for being reliable and enterprising. His current role managing the maintenance projects team combines sales, planning, client communications, and site quality and safety. Maz’s previous experience includes work with industrial pipework installation, and governmental energy and environmental sector work in Saudi Arabia. He is a Prince2 qualified project manager and holds an HND in aerospace engineering.
